JanLaree De Julius; Treasurer-- Hello to all Friends of the Library and the Ukiah Community!!! I am serving as the Treasurer for the 2014-2015 year. I am a California native born on Coronado Naval Base in San Diego. I grew up in the East Bay and made my home in Marin and Napa counties before moving to Las Vegas in 2002. I have over 30 years working at the Executive Level as an Administrative Assistant & Supervisor, including 9+ years at Fair Isaac, (the place where your FICO score comes from  ). I concurrently worked as Co-owner, Administrator & Bookkeeper of DeJulius Electric from 1984-2002. In Las Vegas, I worked for the State of Nevada at a number of state agencies, including the Department of Business & Industry, University of Nevada Las Vegas and Health & Human Services prior to moving back to Northern California last July. I reside in Hopland with my daughter. I have been working at Savings Bank of Mendocino County in the Commercial Loans Department since August 2013. I look forward to serving on the Board and hope to see the library evolve and grow along with the community’s needs and interests.

Mary-Kate Stoever; Secretary As an upstart who slings one heck of a cappuccino (I used to own a café), I have always loved books. I’m more of a fiction than non-fiction reader. I don’t like e-books, and despite my telling everyone that I’m done with screens, I somehow manage the email, blog and other communications as the Board Secretary at FoL. I have 25 + years experience in grassroots organizing, membership, fund-raising, and non-profit administration. I bring a facility to working with multiple stakeholders with divergent views. I hope to bring Friends of the Library to the next level and increase Membership and donations, as well as engaging our Members to become more involved with FoL. Please-- Tell us what YOU would like from YOUR Library!

I, Nancy Trumble, am retired. During my working years I owned my own business for 10 years. I then worked for the University of California for numerous years. I have spent my life time being a bookkeeper and Budget Manager. I reside in Ukiah, CA with my husband Jim (who also helps with book sales and sorting). We both have been residents of Mendocino County for 60+ years. Being an avid reader I have always had an interest in the library. I attended the Friends of the Library board meetings and after several years became a member of the board for the Friends of the Library. I started volunteering with the Friends in 1984, took a break for several years, returned in 1996 to help with book sorting and have been active since. I have served as the book sale chairperson for the Friends of the Library for 12 years.

Hello! I am Carolina North, a resident of Redwood Valley for twenty-seven years and newly elected to the Board of our Ukiah Valley Friends of the Library. I look forward to hearing your suggestions for the expansion and improvement of all services at our Ukiah Library!

Annie Gould has served on the Friends of the Library (FOL) Board of Directors for the past 18 years, many of them as President. She is an inveterate reader who can be seen reading a book as she walks to & from the Library. Annie works for Savings Bank of Mendocino County as a Solution Strategist, while finding many volunteer opportunities, some of her own creation. For example, FEED ANNIE’S CHICKENS was active for over 5 years, gathering Kitchen Scraps from local restaurants with a rotating bucket system, then distributing them to local chicken farmers. Annie works hard on the important causes she believes in: the Friends of the Library, Plowshares, Ecstatic Dances, and the NOT WASTING network. She recycles everything & then some. Her hobbies include mending, inventing things to improve life, and writing the occasional WIBGI – Wouldn’t It Be Great If column for the Friends Newsletter. She has Bill, a retired teacher husband who fishes and writes fiction, and grown sons Andy & Peter. She loves her life now & wouldn’t trade these years for anything. “Please accept our constant invitation to any & all FOL members to attend our monthly meetings. Listen to what’s going on, add your comments, help steer this group as you would like it to go. We welcome you! MONTHLY –2nd Wednesday at 6 pm, in the Ukiah Library – see you there.”
